The Return to Sydney

After my 3 months in Tasmania, I couldn’t await my return to Sydney. Boarding an early flight from Launceston, I was anticipating seeing friends, and most of all, Tam, once again. I didn’t have to wait long – Tam was waiting for me at my gate, having somehow convinced Airport security she wasn’t a threat…:P

It was a fantastic reunion. She planned out everything that day, from getting my favourite gelato to an amazing homecooked dinner. Fish pie, chips, and veggies, with wine.

To top it off, a homemade Bombe Alaska. Absolutely delicious!

Oh, and also fresh pancakes for breakfast. Yup, Tam spoiled me!

Our first adventure back together was a gorgeous walk from the east coast area, near Bondi.

This is ‘winter’ in Sydney. It was probably 20C. After Tasmania, where it at least got to single digits consistently, this felt like summer again!

The walk took us from Watsons Bay to Rose Bay, where one gets a great long view of the harbour bridge and city skyline in the distance.

A very peaceful day all round.

We walked a bit further than expected. After Rose Bay we continued to Double Bay, where we had delicious hamburgers (not pictured, eaten too quickly), and then finished by walking all the way home. All told, it was over 20km of walking in one day, and our legs were entirely exhausted!
